As well as taking residents to their former neighbourhood to buy New Year’s provisions, where they were able to reconnect with old neighbours and shopkeepers, exchange greetings and well-wishes, and soak up the festive atmosphere of the community, the event also arranged for residents and their families to visit The Venetian to experience a modern New Year’s market, thereby helping to maintain the residents’ ties with the community.
