14/02/2026
Sponsored by the Social Welfare Bureau of Macao and organised by the Day Care Service of the Mother's Association's S. Paulo de Lisboa Elderly Integrated Service Centre, the ‘Family Reunion Celebrating the Year of the Horse’ event was successfully held recently. The occasion brought together service users of the centre and their families to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a warm and lively atmosphere.
The event was honoured by the presence of members of the Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Mothers' Association, including Chairman Ho Ting Ip, Vice-Chairpersons Fong Ching I, Fei Man Wa, and Lam Pui Chong, Deputy Supervisor Yin Yi Qiao, and Directors Ko Man Na and Chan Tan Fung. President He Dingyi personally took to the stage to extend New Year greetings to the elderly attendees. Subsequently, he joined the directors and supervisors in a toast ceremony, with all present raising their glasses in celebration, creating a lively atmosphere.
During the event, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous reunion dinner while watching performances meticulously prepared by the elderly and staff. These included the dance ‘Sha la la’, songs ‘Happy Birthday to You’ and ‘Blessings to You’, and the dance ‘Wealth from All Directions’, all receiving resounding applause. Following the performances, President Ho Ting-yat and the Board members personally distributed New Year gifts to the elderly, conveying festive blessings.
As the event drew to a close, a heartwarming retrospective video was screened, revisiting cherished moments shared between the centre and its elderly members. The atmosphere reached its climax when the God of Wealth made a surprise appearance, distributing blessings to all present.
This event not only allowed the elderly to feel the warmth and care of the festive season but also fostered connections between families and the community, embodying the true meaning of ‘family reunion’. The organisers expressed gratitude to all participants and staff for their dedication and pledged to continue striving to provide more diverse and thoughtful services for the elderly.
