City University Mother’s Day Workshop

The ‘Mother’s Day Flower Arrangement Workshop’, organised by the Mother’s Association of the Ha Wan Integrated Elderly Services Centre in collaboration with volunteers from the City University of Macau, was successfully held on 23 April. A total of 20 elderly participants gathered to create twisty-strand flower arrangements in preparation for Mother’s Day, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
On the day, the volunteers and senior citizens were divided into small groups. Under the guidance of volunteer instructors, they used colourful craft sticks to create three-dimensional bouquets. Throughout the process, the volunteers patiently assisted the elderly participants in twisting and assembling the petals and leaves, whilst the participants exercised their creativity to design unique pieces. Laughter filled the room as the elderly and volunteers chatted about everyday matters whilst working, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
